Abstract

AbstractAt optical excitation of the electronic (A0) and hole (A2+) centres with 2S1/2 ground state (2S1/2 centres) in KCI crystals, polarized intra‐centreluminescence and destruction of the centres are observed due to the delocalization of electrons or holes. Localization of holes in the crystal, or interaction of electrons or holes with various crystal defects results in the formation of new centres (e.g. A0, Vk, Vk−T10 and Vk−T1+ pairs, H, A2+v−c). Luminescence is found to occur at the formation of new centres. Spectral, polarization, temperature, and concentration dependences are investigated for the phenomena observed.
