Abstract

Industrial in-situ machining is the one leading requirement in oil and gas, petrochemical, marine and power generation industry. In-situ machining is performed to reduce the shutdown duration and enhance the safe operation of the aforesaid plants. Dismantling of flange is time consuming and expensive. It is required an additional process of testing to confirm the integrity of the system. The solution is to bring the machine tools on site to machine the surface as per the standard and minimize the duration and make economical. The potable flange facing machines capable to damage sealing surface onto the flange by creating a spiral serrated finish. The internal and external mount types with different size potable machines are available in either pneumatic or hydraulically driven motors for the flange facing operation. The optimization of industrial in-situ machining process parameter will provide the optimum condition of machining to make the cost effective machining for industrial requirement to developed competitive and economical machining.
