Abstract
The paper describes (a) the isolation and characterization of Wharton's Jelly Mesenchymal Stem cells (WJMSCs), (b) the encapsulation of WJMSCs in alginate microbeads by an encapsulation device based on a vibrating-nozzle, (c) the optimization of the procedure for the encapsulation of WJMSCs by a Design of Experiment (DoE) approach, and (d) the evaluation of viability, proliferation and osteoblastic differentiation of the encapsulated WJMSCs.
