Abstract

The article discusses the process of mobilization of the USSR economy as one of the main factors in the victory of the Red Army over the Nazi troops in the Battle of Moscow. The mobilization of the country’s economy was a response to the occupation plans of the Nazi leadership to use the economic resources of the USSR. The battle near Moscow became a test for the economic system of the USSR, which the country successfully withstood. The “blitzkrieg” plan was thwarted, the war moved into a qualitatively new stage, for which fascist Germany was not ready. The eastern (rear) territories of the country played an important role in mobilizing the economy.
