Abstract

A new energy efficient ultrasound based technique is explored for the synthesis of azo dyes. Higher reaction rates, energy efficiency and better thermal stability with uniform particle sizes are the key features of the sonochemical method. The kinetic study of N, N-dimethyl-4-((4-nitrophenyl) diazenyl) aniline azo dye synthesized using sonochemical method is done by developing a simple technique of time defined removal of sample from the reaction mass. Compared to the conventional method, the developed method invariably adds on towards the functionality of green chemistry giving rise to clean and neat process of synthesis and analysis.
