Abstract

A two stage algorithm for parameter and delay estimation of continuous-time transfer function models from sinusoidal response is presented. In the first stage, a step response of the process is estimated from its sinusoidal test data. The input may be single or multiple frequency sinusoids with known properties. In the second stage, an existing step response method is used to estimate the parameters and the delay of the transfer function model. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed procedure.
