Abstract

Under current conditions, the world economy and trade are undergoing significant changes caused both by population growth and by various economic and political factors affecting the volume of supply and demand. At the same time, the market for grain and grain products is strategically important for the economies of many countries, because it is directly linked to the systemic function of providing raw materials for a number of sectors of the economy (agriculture (livestock), food, chemical, pharmaceutical, perfume and cosmetics industries). Being a part of food security, the grain market has a huge impact on the economy as a whole. All this suggests the need for close attention to this market, analysis of the current situation, which influenced the sharp decline or spike in supply and consumption of cereal crops. The authors conducted a study of global trends in the grain market and determined the relationship between population and grain production in the world. The role of Russia in the world grain market is defined; actual data on the dynamics of grain exports from Russia for 2017-2021 are given. The authors define the role of customs logistics in ensuring the movement of grain crops in order to increase foreign trade. In order to ensure Russia’s competitive advantage in the world grain market, the paper proposes the creation of a process chart of interaction between entities, in particular, government agencies, exporters and carriers, which are involved in international grain turnover.
