Abstract
Recent developments of QMG (Quench and Melt Growth) process and properties of large QMG crystals as bulk magnets are reported. QMG crystals have two prominent features. One is the finely dispersed RE2BaCuO5(211) phase (about 1 micrometer). The other is that the REBa2Cu3O7-x (123) matrix is a pseudo single crystal which has no high angle grain boundary acting as weak-link.
