Abstract
Edith Kramer (1916–2014) was a major figure in art therapy in the United States, contributing a seminal theory and practice that influenced generations of art therapists. This portfolio of original artworks by Kramer and accompanying essay authored by the curator was exhibited in 2009 at the Norwood Flynn Gallery in Dallas, Texas, in conjunction with the national conference of the American Art Therapy Association. The exhibition provided an introspective window through which to view the artwork of one of the founders of the field of art therapy and to revisit her original conception of the relationship between art and psychotherapy through her artist identity.
