Abstract
The TITAN is a new experimental facility for neutron radiography and tomography at the research nuclear reactor WWR-K at the Institute of Nuclear Physics (Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan). The TITAN facility is located on the radial beamline No1 of the nuclear reactor WWR-K. The neutron beam with a maximal field of view of 200 × 200 mm is formed by a collimator system, and the characteristic parameter L/D ratio can be varied in the range 75–1400. The sapphire filter is used to suppress fast neutron radiation. The detector system is based on a scintillator screen with the high-resolution high-sensitive CCD-camera. The design, schematic layout and main technical parameters of the neutron imaging station are presented. The first obtained results of the neutron radiography and tomography experiments with industrial materials and several cultural heritage objects are presented.
