Abstract

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the Third ACM International Workshop on Interactive Multimedia on Mobile and Portable Devices -- IMMPD'13. Following the previous successful events, this year's workshop brings together researchers from both academia and industry in domains including computer vision, audio and speech processing, machine learning, pattern recognition, communications, human-computer interaction, and media technology to share and discuss recent advances in interactive multimedia. The call for papers attracted 14 submissions from USA, Europe, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, and China. The program committee accepted 7 papers that cover a variety of topics, including mobile gesture interaction, image/video summarization, mobile gaming, and image analysis on mobile devices. The accepted papers are from both industry and academia. In addition, the program includes a keynote speech by Alejandro Jaimes from Yahoo!, Spain. We hope that these proceedings will serve as a valuable reference for researchers and developers in this field.
