Abstract
Editor’s Note: The program and abstracts for the recent meeting of the Japanese Society for Connective Tissue Research (JSCTR), held in May 2005 in Toyama, Japan, follow. Arrangements to publish these abstracts followed our agreement to act as the official publication for the JSCTR, but they were not in time to assure that all the abstracts would be in English and in a uniform format this year. Thus, none of the symposium papers was in English, and several of the regular submissions were in Japanese. These are not included in the program published below, but the topics of each symposium are provided, along with the names of the symposia chairs. I attended this meeting and can report that many aspects of the fields of connective tissue and matrix biology research are being vigorously pursued by active and dedicated members of the scientific community. Connective Tissue Research is pleased to bring their work-in-progress to your attention.
