Abstract
ACM International Conference on Virtual Reality Continuum and Its Applications VRCIA is a biannual conference devoted to the technical aspects and applied areas of virtual reality continuum, covering from the real environment through augmented reality and augmented virtuality to the virtual environment. Fundamental research has been rapidly evolving within the virtual reality continuum, resulting in new algorithms, new systems, and new devices. Also, multi-faceted applications have emerged in areas such as engineering, science, education, communication and entertainment. This year selected papers from VRCIA 2006 will appear in Journal of Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds, International Journal of Image and Graphics, and Journal of Computer-Aided Design & Computer Graphics. ACM VRCIA 2006 is the 2nd ACM international conference biannually starting from 2004. In addition to ACM SIGGRAPH sponsorship, VRCIA is in cooperation with the Eurographics Association, Chinese Society of Image and Graphics, and INI-GraphicsNet. The VRCIA proceedings are published by ACM SIGGRAPH and can be purchased directly from them.ACM VRCIA 2006 is held in Hong Kong, China, a dynamic city of over 6.8 million people and a meeting point of Eastern and Western cultures.
