Abstract

This volume consists of the peer-reviewed papers for the 10th International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services (iiWAS2008) held in Linz, Austria, in November 24-26, 2008. The iiWAS conference series started 10 years ago as a local workshop in Indonesia. It has since grown internationally. This year, iiWAS celebrates its tenth anniversary. iiWAS2008 is hosted by the Johannes Kepler University Linz, the home university of the iiWAS pioneer: Ismail Khalil. There have been a number of important achievements to mark the tenth anniversary of iiWAS. iiWAS, is for the first time, endorsed by the ACM SIGWEB. The proceedings is published by the ACM and is available in its Digital Library. A number of reputable international journals have also agreed to publish special issues of iiWAS2008. Apart from technical presentation sessions, iiWAS2008 program also includes five distinguished keynote speakers: Alois Ferscha (Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria), Artur Lugmayr (Tampere University of Technology, Finland), Hanna Risku (Donau-Universitat Krems, Austria), Zoe Lacroix (Arizona State University, USA) and Abdelkader Hameurlain (Paul Sabatier University, France) and three tutorials on community TV by Bernhard Collini-Nocker (University of Salzburg, Austria), Web Information Systems by Klaus-Dieter Schewe (New Zealand Information Science Research Centre) and Bernhard Thalheim (Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel, Germany), and XML Warehousing by Wenny Rahayu (La Trobe University, Australia). iiWAS2008 also includes two workshops: 1st International Workshop on Resource Discovery (RED), and 2nd International Workshop on Applications of Information Integration in Digital Ecosystems (AIIDE). We would like to show our appreciations to the workshops chairs and co-chairs. In addition, iiWAS2008 proceedings also include papers from Masters and Doctoral Colloquium and Emerging Research Projects Applications and Services Symposium (ERPAS).
