Abstract

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the Seventeenth Workshop on Mobile Computing Systems and Applications -- HotMobile'16. This year's workshop continues the series of highly selective, interactive workshops focused on mobile applications, systems, and environments, as well as their underlying state-of-the-art technologies. HotMobile's small workshop format makes it ideal for processing and discussing new directions or controversial approaches. The call for papers attracted submissions from Asia, Europe, and the United States. The program committee reviewed and accepted 18 papers out of 55 submissions (acceptance rate 32%). We also encourage attendees to attend the keynote and invited talk presentations. These valuable and insightful talks can and will guide us to a better understanding of the future: Keynote: Hot or Not? Moving forward from Weiser's vision of ubiquitous computing -- Speaker: Gregory D. Abowd (School of Interactive Computing, Georgia Tech)
