Abstract

Hemifacial spasm (HFS) is a movement disorder characterized by involuntary and irregular contraction of facial muscles[1]. It is associated with reorganization in human motor cortex and somatosensory afferents[2]. So far, there is no effective therapy for HFS. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of electroacupuncture on HFS symptoms through maladaptive cortical reorganization.
