Abstract

This paper presents a procedure for radio noise measurements in the Medium Wave band. The methodology for measuring and processing radio noise is presented. The antennas and propagation characteristics in Medium Wave band are explained. The study is focused on analyzing the most important parameters used to characterize radio noise. This paper gives answer to the request of the International Telecommunication Union, ITU, in ITU-R 214-3/4 question, which request to study radio noise and how noise measurements should be done. This paper is based on several measurement campaigns.
