Abstract

This article describes the procedure for declaring national standards, taking as an example the national standard of the liquid volume measurement unit. At the same time, following the analysis of the General Regulation of Legal Metrology GRLM 09:2015 „Standards of Measurement Units. General Principles. The Way of Elaboration, Approval, Registration, Preservation and Use”, the order and responsibilities of those involved in the preparation of the file for the purpose of declaring the national standard of the liquid volume measurement unit were well established. Finally, the component parts of the standard were investigated over a period of time to determine the stability of the measurements and the file was created, which was subsequently submitted to the Central Metrology Authority (CMA) for approval.
