Abstract

Procedural sedation is classified as a high-risk, low volume procedure in many hospitals across the nation. Standards of care for the provision of sedation are clear, but many hospitals struggle with implementation and monitoring for quality improvement. This presentation will review the standards of care from various physician and nursing organizations, appropriate patient assessment and discuss a monitoring program for quality improvement.
