Abstract
Ensuring the evidential basis is a permanent challenge for the law enforcement agency in criminal proceedings. This challenge is materialized by the desire of the perpetrator/criminal to destroy the evidence that proves their guilt. In investigating crime offenses, this danger is more imminent due to the operating methods of criminal groups and organizations, namely violence, cruelty and terror. For centuries, the statements of persons targeted by criminal actions or those who witnessed these actions have been considered the most viable evidence in a criminal trial. Given the importance and weight of the given evidence, the actions of criminal organizations have constantly been aimed at influencing and destroying it. It is precisely this fact that has led the legislator to take a firm position in this regard to ensure the state protection of persons who collaborate with the law enforcement agency in holding the guilty parties accountable.
