Abstract

The aim of this article is to report on the various legal issues raised by the use of Big Data in health care. This will firstly involve specifying the context in which the Big Data was developed, by attempting to define the concept, describe the various practices implemented and set out the legal framework for the use of health data and, secondly, to present the institutional structuring of the various French databases based on the National Health Data System, as well as the ambitions and difficulties posed by the recent creation of the national health data platform, known as the Healht Data Hub.
