Abstract

Some recently proposed actions for 2D, chiral scalars are not acceptable actions for relativistic field theories if quantized by the well-known procedure of Dirac. The problem is that different, inertial observes would quantize these actions to obtain inequivalent quantum theories. This problem can be avoided by the introduction of new constraints, “frame” constraints. Siegel's action can be quantized without this modification.
