Abstract

Purpose: The article analyzes the formation of the legal awareness of young people in the modern education in Russia within the process of digitalization. Design/methodology/approach: During the research, a general scientific method was used, and as a result the essence of the “legal awareness” and “digitalization” concepts were distinguished. Historical and comparative methods were widely used, which made it possible to identify the emergence and development of the main normative acts in the field of digitalization, their comparison based on emerging problems and implementation in the educational process. Findings: The theoretical aspects of legal awareness and digitalization are considered, its legal sources are investigated. Particular attention is paid to the issues of introducing digitalization into the educational process and algorithms for its implementation are proposed. The authors analyze the level of legal awareness of Russian students in the process of digitalization, identify the problems of its formation and suggest ways to increase it. Originality/value: The authors found that both the school and the university should form young people knowledge, competencies, as well as skills that are in demand in the context of digitalization, the economy, the social sphere, and culture. In this regard, it was determined that the formation of the legal awareness of young people at an early stage is associated with digital technologies and, to a lesser extent, with traditional agents of socialization, for example, a family, whose institution has recently been in crisis. It is fairly believed that in order to train specialists related to information and communication technologies, it is necessary to introduce the course “Legal Basis of Digitalization” and develop the “Digital Law” industry.
