Abstract

The relatively high reliability of domestic hydraulic structures promotes the creation of the illusion of their absolute safety. However, would experience and recently the practice of operating hydraulic structures in Russia and countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) convincingly indicate the need for a substantial review of our attitude toward practical activities with respect to ensuring the safety of hydraulic structures.
