Abstract
The article is dedicated to the problems of contemporary Serbian parliamentarism, both in the institutional and functional dimension. First, the evolution of the position of the Serbian parliament since 1835 will be presented, albeit in a cursory way, then the current constitutional regulations, before moving on to contemporary issues. The main research question is to what extent the problems of dysfunction of the Serbian parliamentarism result from structural reasons and to what extent from functional ones. Several research methods were used in the work – legal and institutional analysis, historical and descriptive analysis as well as a comparative and systemic method.
