Abstract

The article is devoted to the consideration in a generalized manner of the range of possible strategies for the spatial development of provincial cities in Russia, taking into account the current specifics of the formation of their management institutions and construction business enterprises. The main options for the development of cities in the near future with their pros and cons are considered. The problem developed in this article is extremely relevant for almost any city in modern Russia at the stage of changing the economic structure and the country's transition from an industrial to a postindustrial type of economy. The authors of the article substantiate the advantages of choosing a polycentric model of the development of the city of Samara. Conclusions and recommendations are made on a specific urban planning material.
