Abstract

This paper discusses the use of the absorption-elution method for the grouping of water soluble ABH antigens in body fluids, the possibility of obtaining erroneous results by both absorption-elution and absorption-inhibition and recommends the use of both methods in parallel on a semi-quantitative basis. The use of Lewis typing particularly for confirmation of nonsecretor reactions is also described.
