Abstract

Thermoanalytical techniques, including differential scanning calorimetry and thermo-gravimetry, allow to test the properties of materials using small amounts. They enable obtaining a lot of reliable information about samples of explosives in a relatively short time, while maintaining operator and surroundings safety. The course of measurements and their results depend on many factors, and potential errors can arise at various stages, from taking samples for tests until conclusions are drawn. Appropriate selection of test parameters as well as proper analysis and interpretation of results pose a special challenge for the researcher. Keywords:
