Abstract

Data on the volume of recovered casing-head gas (CHG) in Russia in the period from 2005 to 2010 and on the volume of casing-head gas burned in flares and the associated negative effects on the environment are considered. The present level of CHG utilization and trends of useful utilization of the gas are presented and problems in the area of metrological assurance of measurements of the parameters of casing-head gas are formulated.
