SCHAB The author is a Senior Project Engineer in the Fuels Branch, Fuels and Lubricants Division, U. S. Naval Engineering Experiment Station, Annapolis, Maryland. He is a past president of the Severn Technical Society at the station. Prior to World War II, in which he served approximately 4 years as a naval aviator, he studied mechanical engineering at the University of Iowa. After the war he received the degree of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland.
