Abstract

AbstractTwo special ionexchange resins are described. One for the polishing of brine solutions in alkali chloride electrolysis plants. It is a styrene‐divinylbenzene resin with complexforming iminodiacetic acid groups. The residual calcium values in the brine can be set down from 2–20 ppm Ca to less than 0,05 ppm Ca by this resin. The second resin is a strongly basic gel typ doted with metallic palladium. This resin serves as catalyst to remove even last traces of oxygen from process water using hydrogen added in equivalent quantities.
