Abstract

The sequence of removing oil slicks from sea, river, and lake areas of water formed as a result of accidental oil spillages is described. A number of oil-absorbent substances, i.e., sorbents developed by different firms, are considered. A collection method is proposed for oil films by means of a skimmer providing magnetic conglomeration of oil with the aim of fine cleaning of areas of sea water that even makes it possible to create conditions for overwintering of swans who are very sensitive to pollution.
