Abstract
formulation is possible in principle, but the obtainment of a solution in the case of simultaneous consideration of the transient character of the action and spatial interaction of the structure with the inhomogeneous foundation and fluid being supported is difficult, especially in a multivariant calculation at the preliminary design stage. Under these conditions mathematical formulation of the problem with the use of physical representation of the process and creation of a method of calculation with an increased share of the analytical part of the solution are an urgent problem. We created an effective method of calculating the stress state of concrete dams under transient actions as hydroelastic systems. Dams and shells of a complex form are used as the calculation schemes of the structures. There is a sufficient number of works on evaluating the limits of applicability of this theory. The possibility of using the theory of shells for calculating arch dams numerically was investigated in the works of V. N. Lombardo with its static calculation. We investigated the dynamic state of a dam on the basis of comparing problems with respect to the scheme of a state of plane strain and bar scheme. Horizontal and vertical components of the seismic action, given by the accelerogram records, and hydrodynamic pressure are taken into account. The results of a plane strain state were obtained on the basis of solving the Lam6 equations under boundary conditions of the mixed type with the use of the finite-difference method of degree of accuracy two. The solution permits investigating
