Abstract

Probiotics have shown their potent immunomodulatory effects and are considered a promising alternative for the prevention and treatment of inflammatory disorders.1 However, lack of precise action mechanisms of probiotics restrained their application, especially for the treatment of non-gastrointestinal diseases such as skin allergies including atopic dermatitis and allergic contact dermatitis.2 Previously, we have shown that the combination of rationally selected 5 probiotic bacteria strains (known as IRT5) has persuasive therapeutic effects on autoimmunity.
