Abstract

Nanoparticle Protein Corona In article number 2111077, Naoki Komatsu and co-workers reveal the role of charged functional groups, quantitively introduced on the surface of polyglycerol-grafted nanoparticles, in protein corona formation and subsequent cellular uptake. The impact of the protein corona is clarified in the cytotoxicity and uptake mechanisms. The findings should provide practical guidelines for nanoparticle design for diagnosis and therapy in nanomedicine.
