Abstract

The Probation Service and the Prison Department have both committed themselves to 'shared working' for the welfare and resettlement of prisoners. The authors set out a role for Probation in the enterprise and argue for a probation presence in prisons to ensure an effective response to the needs of prisoners. Objectives
