Abstract

Probability is too often omitted from the elementary mathematics curriculum. Recent experiences using probability with elementary students, both primary and intermediate, indicate that such a topic increases mathematical understanding and teaches mathematical thinking-two worthy goals of a modern curriculum. Here is an activity that fifth- and sixthgrade students enjoy.
