Abstract

In a group of seventy-two veal calves raised in a «battery» a respiratory syndrome occurred progressively over a period of 114 days of fattening, resulting in seven deaths. A serologic analysis was conducted on these animals using the following antigens : I.B.R. virus, B.V.D. virus, Adenovirus type III, Réovirus type III, Bovine respiratory syncytial (B.R.S.) virus, and Chlamydia psittaci. The results obtained from fifty-four serums (x 3) drawn on days 3, 37 and 76 are analyzed and discussed ; the possibility of an étiologie role for I.B.R., B.V.D. and B.R.S. viruses, and Chlamydia, as well as various bacteria (Pasteurella, Corynebacteria, B. Pyo-cyaneus) is considered.
