Abstract

The grid-connected operation of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) and PV (Photovoltaic Power Source) bring more stochastic factors to the power system, which makes the power flow more uncertain. Thus, the probabilistic power flow calculation for power system, which includes HVDC and PV, is proposed. Firstly, the probabilistic power flow model of the whole power system is established. In the established model, the probabilistic characteristics of loads and PVs are considered. The correlations between PVs and loads are taken into account. After that, the stochastic response surface method, which can deal with the correlations of random variables, is used to solve the model. Finally, the numerical characteristics of power flow responses are achieved. Taking the IEEE 14-bus system with HVDC and PV as the test system, the results of the simulation verify that the method provided by this paper is correct and effective.
