Abstract

Objective: The aim of this study was to integrate and optimize the role of patient and health care provider education in the management of malignant bowel obstruction (MBO) in women with advanced gynecological cancers. The interprofessional MBO management program includes a clinical screening tool to identify patients at risk, a color-coded nurse-led symptom management algorithm, a standardized assessment tool, documentation template, bowel management regime, and education materials for patients and health care providers.
