Privy Council and Scire Facias 1700-1883: An Addendum to the Brief for H. Tomas Gomez-Arostegui and Sean Bottomley As Amici Curiae in Support of Neither Party

Abstract

This paper is an addendum to the amicus brief we filed in Oil States Energy Services, LLC v. Greene's Energy Group, LLC on August 17, 2017 in the U.S. Supreme Court. It discusses, in much more detail than was possible in our brief, the power of the Privy Council to revoke invention patents in the late 18th century and throughout the 19th century.
