Pamplona Guimarães, Wlaumir Doniseti de Souza Abstract The purpose of this article is, from the historical context of the military dictatorship in Brazil, and highlighting the importance of the Barao de Maua University of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters for the History of Higher Education in Brazil and this fact also allowed employability to some of the most important intellectuals of the country facing political persecution of intellectuals critical progressive or roughly leftist radicalism before the military governments.
