Abstract
Venous thromboembolic events (VTE) consist of a frequent complication in cancer patients. Their incidence has increased during the last decennial, whatever the cancer site. Taking into account for the life expectancy improvement in cancer patients in general, and in patients with cancer and thrombosis, specifically, two issues should be considered for therapeutic strategy in cancer patients with VTE: first, the initial management of the VTE, second, the long-term treatment (beyond 6 months after the initial event). Literature data and current recommendations on VTE and cancer will be reviewed in this article.1877-1203/© 2022 SPLF. Published by Elsevier Masson SAS. All rights reserved.
