Introduction

Banking sector in India is sound, adequately capitalized and well-regulated. It has always been one of the most preferred destinations for employment. In this decade, this sector has emerged as a sunrise sector in Indian economy. Factor analysis is one of the very useful techniques to summarize a large amount of data in a manageable way. Factor analysis attempts to identify underlying variables, or factors, that explain the pattern of correlations within a set of observed variables. Factor analysis is often used in data reduction to identify a small number of factors that explain most of the variance observed in a much larger number of manifest variables.
