Abstract
In this chapter, planar printed MIMO antenna with pattern and polarization diversity have been discussed. The first design utilizes pattern diversity with omnidirectional radiation patterns in orthogonal planes. The MIMO antenna shows a wide range frequency tunability with an external loaded capacitor. In the second design, a compact MIMO antenna system with combined pattern and polarization diversity application have been addressed for WLAN (5.8 GHz) band. The MIMO system maintains a good isolation between the two input ports without using any enhancement technique as such. Moreover, the concept can be extended to realize MIMO antenna system to operate at other frequency with suitable scaling and optimizing geometrical parameters of the antenna topology.
