Abstract

The metro stations are typical public spaces in cities, and they are important for the development of monumental and decorative art. Studying foreign cases has a positive value for considering the problems that the monumental and decorative art of metro stations may face in the new conditions that have arisen with the change of time. This article examines the monumental and decorative art in the rapidly developing Chinese metro system and analyzes the ways in which Chinese authors have established connections between the works, the station space, the city, and the public in order to fully realize the social significance of monumental and decorative art.
