Abstract

Having examined Bragg diffraction from individual crystals in the previous chapter, one may now proceed to study diffraction involving an arbitrary number of crystals. As we shall see, x rays beams with desired spectral and angular characteristics — monochromatic beams, beams with extremely narrow angular divergence, etc. — can be obtained by Bragg reflections off several crystals.
