Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the expression means of the comic situation in the scientific discourse and the discourse of Internet meme practices. The topic of cats is considered, the commonality of which allows to identify the difference between the order of discourse organization and the specifics of their spectacular means. It turns out that the difference between the tropes of metaphor and metonymy allows us to clarify the basic organizational guidelines of both discursive practices.The prospects of turning to metonymy outside the discourse of rhetoric and poetics are an open question exactly. However, the conceptualization of Internet practices is in itself quite metonymic, because it causes a trick, and, consequently, a certain emotional background. At the same time, the attempt to show the relevance of trope theory to the conceptualization of memes is metaphorical in large scale. However, the lack of a clear boundary in the humanities methodology between metaphorization and conceptualization inspires to try.
