Abstract
The presence of rock art in the northern Patagonian coast is reported for the first time. The findings correspond to caves on the Vilcun hill (42o49`S-72o50`O), Santa barbara, close to the modern city of Chaiten and are both paintings and engravings. No surface archaeological materials were found.
