Abstract
Ipomoea indica is recorded for the first time for the province of Cordoba. It is used as ornamental species and usually it can be established in natural areas near urban zones. This new locality completes its distribution in all the provinces that comprise western Andalusia.

Son plantas de gran belleza y vistosidad, que se han utilizado para su cultivo o como ornamentales en zonas ajardinadas y como seto en vallas y muros, por lo que se han ido asilvestrando por diversos puntos de la geografía española (Anthos 2013)
Potencialmente I. indica podría colonizar cauces de arroyos que vierten sus aguas al río Guadalquivir en la vega cordobesa, donde son frecuentes los cañaverales, pudiéndose ver la convolvulácea autóctona, y también voluble, Calystegia sepium (L.) R

Está compuesto por 600-700 especies, generalmente trepadoras, que se distribuyen por las zonas tropicales y subtropicales de todo el mundo (Silvestre 2012).
